The picture itself is beautiful for a lack of a better word. Staring at the center star for instance, my eyes are dragged either up or down. If upwards, it circles along the clusters to Mars on top of the mountains. If it follows the diagonal line to the right, it hits the tree clump and moves alongside the fence to the solitary tree. The snow itself doesn't show any steps, which would veer off the view. The solitary trees to the left stand before the rest, which suggest solitude but at the same time a solidarity as seen with the brighter stars standing alongside the duller ones.
With spending ten, fifteen minutes looking at the piece though, the tree to the right being partly cut off feels weird. The angle of the camera, it feels like you were leaning against the fence while taking the picture, adds another element of disorientation.
When looking at your other pictures, this one in specific loses the viewer in the depth of the stars. But that tilt of the camera makes the footing where we come back to feel a little bit off.
All that said, I can't wait to see what you will come up with next. Thank you!
That picture is absolutely breath taking. This has to be one of my favorite pictures I've ever seen with photography.
Now for my critiquing:
Vision: The night sky is stunning, and you've captured it perfectly! It was the very first thing I noticed in your photo, and I've been staring at that perfect sky this entire time while writing this critique. The entire scenery looks still, calm and very peaceful; something I wish I could see on a daily basis here at home.
Originality: No one can capture this picture exactly like this! The stars are never the same, but I love how you showed the brightness in the stars.
Technique: I can't describe with enough words to say how beautiful your shot of this is. You've just captured it so amazingly!
Impact: I love staring at the stars, especially if the moon is full. I love the snow when it's untouched, like it's been freshly laid down. And having them both in the same picture is like heaven to me- if you can understand what I mean.
I think you deserve 5 stars on the rating and critiquing. I hope to see more of your beautiful photos soon!
Beautifully composed photograph, and you have the exposure spot on to create the perfect image you are sharing with us all. Excellent work indeed. Simon
